Band Stand made by Jim Corbett when he was Municipal Board
Member. He made this Band Stand from his personal money, which was 4000 rupees.
In the decades of seventies every summer evening by 6 P.m -
7 Pm P.A.C. used to play the band and Mr. Ram Singh was the main hero of this
band. He used to play Patriotic songs, film songs and Kumauni (Regional
language) songs as well. People had a craze for his melodies. After sometime,
this culture has disappeared and the condition of Band Stand was going worst
But after long time, this year from 20th May 2012
Band Stand is again blaring with melody of Police band…
nice pics of the band... fun times for the kids!

ReplyDeleteBand Stand is first to me. That Band Stand is nicely located overlooking river and surrounded by mountains, so the sound of wind instrument and percussions would sound special.
